SPECS & HISTORY

The 2002 Volkswagen GTI 337 Edition was a limited North American special celebrating the GTI’s 25th anniversary (Europe had the 25 Jahre). Named after the original Golf’s internal code (EA337), only about 1,500 were built for the US and roughly 250 for Canada. All were Reflex Silver Metallic with a unique body kit, 18" BBS RC wheels, red brake calipers, Recaro seats with red stitching, and a 180 hp 1.8T mated to a 6-speed manual.

  • Engine: 1.8L turbo 20v (AWP) – 180 hp / 173 lb-ft
  • Transmission: 6-speed manual (02M)
  • Wheels: 18x7.5" BBS RC with 225/40R18 tires
  • Brakes: Red-painted calipers, upgraded rotors
  • Interior: Recaro sport seats, red-stitched leather, Monsoon audio
  • Exterior: Votex-style body kit, unique badging, no sunroof on most
  • Production: ~1,750 total (US + Canada)
